Abstract

Purpose : This research is to confirm the positive effect of a positive psychotherapy program on nursing students¡¯ self-esteem and stress.

Methods : The subjects were 71 students who were attending J College of Nursing and we placed 36 students in an experimental group and 35 students in a control group. We conducted total 8 sessions of the positive psychotherapy program once per week and for 120 minutes per session. We analyzed an average difference of a preliminary test and a post test for students¡¯ self-esteem and stress by using the independent t-test.

Results : The results show that the positive psychotherapy program increased students¡¯ self-esteem and reduced their stress.
